# Question about links in flash

I have several video clips that I want to simply begin downloading when a word is clicked in a flash movie. I can make them do this, but it opens up a blank page along with the download. Is there a way to just have the download begin, without having a page open? I know the common target options and have tried just putting a # sign to fix the issue, but it doesn’t work. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
