# Question regarding META tags

Are you supposed to put META tags on all your pages or just your index page?

What I mean is on my index page I have about 5 or 6 different META tags (keywords, name, title…etc…). Do I put all the same ones on all of the pages of my site?

I don’t think search engines rely heavily on meta tags anymore. But I’m not sure… can someone verify?

i guess you could… i do, i dont see any harm in doing so. cause if you have like 10000 pages, and only meta on one, then when someone searches, they are only gonna get that one page…correct?  
but it doesnt hurt to copy and paste does it now?

actually if you have 1000 pages it would hurt…lol

you would need a template if you wanted 1000 pages…copy and pasting would take hours !!!

well, yea thats what i meant, a template. who has 1000 pages of different layouts, honestly lol
