# Random Color Change

My dad’s laptop has been acting funny for the past few days. He mainly uses Word/Excel for work and Netscape to use internet. The screen is set to 1024x768 32bit color quality, however, randomly, the computer drops to 8bit. I haven’t done any extensive tests yet because he’s on it 90% of the time when he’s home so I don’t want to get in the way. So, has anyone heard of this happening before? I’m ruling out virus/spyware/adware (even though I’ll scan for them at last resort) because his company takes care of it. He’s running XP w/ SP2.
