# Replacing strings

hi,

here is the string which i am getting through XML and storing in arrays in flash.

I-94little (w\*\*\*) card&newline;got at the (a\*\*\*)&newline;should be put in your (p\*\*\*)&newline;if not found?see (O\*\*\*) immediatelyget a (n\*\*\*) one&newline;most important to identify legal (s\*\*\*) in the USA&newline; an (i\*\*\*) officer or a (p\*\*\*) officer looking for it&newline;

i want to replace \*\*\* with the input text field so the user can enter the missing words.

Can you tell me any tips to achieve this

check [proto.layer51.com](http://proto.layer51.com) for some functions to do that. Note that some are simple (such as split join) but often are slower. If thats all the text you’re dealing with, though, it shouldnt be a problem
