I have a fully completed multiframe movie containing some symbols & animations.

I wanted to scale a version of this movie down to a much smaller size to act as a preview “Thumbnail” for use in a larger movie (The Thumbnails gets loaded through “loadMovie” & are shown as miniature versions of themselves in a larger portfolio site.)

I wanted to find a way to scale all the elements of the movie down to a new size without having to physically select each instance & scale appropriately to match each keyframe – eg. If part of the animation contains a big clip getting smaller, I would have to make a smaller version of this, rescaling at each keyframe.

What I though would be a more efficient way was to some how get the existing movie into a new symbol & simple resize an instance of this. I have tried to select all the frames in the movie & then create a new symbol – But with no joy.

Is there any way to:

Place an existing movie into a symbol & resize?

Or get the movie being loaded into the portfolio site to scale down to fit into the host clip. I have tried \_x & \_yscale, but although everything scales down fine the movie still plays out to it’s original dimensions.
