i’m not quite sure if this is possible, but i’m hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this.

what i’m trying to do is sort of a combination of the rollover motion blur affect (i.e. [http://www.actionscript.org/resources/articles/38/1/Blur-transition-effect/Page1.html](http://www.actionscript.org/resources/articles/38/1/Blur-transition-effect/Page1.html)) and the flashlight effect (i.e. [http://www.flashadvisor.com/movie/display/37.html](http://www.flashadvisor.com/movie/display/37.html)).

so, if possible, what would happen is the entire image would be entirely blurred out by default (when the page loads), and as you rollover certain parts, only that specific part becomes clear/visible.

i was thinking maybe if i used a blurred image (instead of the black background) and then the flashlight would reveal the original image, would that work in the way that i want?

i’m not a huge flash user, so any advice or opinions on this would be greatly appreciated! thanks guys.
