# Say hello to HTTPS://www.kirupa.com

The only reason was to have this tutorial work: [https://www.kirupa.com/html5/accessing\_your\_webcam\_in\_html5.htm](https://www.kirupa.com/html5/accessing_your_webcam_in_html5.htm)

Chrome made a change where webcam access only works on HTTPS connections on the internet, and that meant the old [kirupa.com](http://kirupa.com) servers had to go through a 5 minute process to get it all up and running. MediaTemple made that part really easy. The only complicated part was doing a find/replace on almost all of the HTML files to replace [http://www.kirupa.com](http://www.kirupa.com) with [https://www.kirupa.com](https://www.kirupa.com).
