ScaleOps just raised a $130M Series C at an $800M+ valuation, with Insight Partners leading, as it pushes software that automates cloud and AI infrastructure management for customers like.

Big round, but the real test is whether “autonomous” survives one messy prod cluster with three teams, bad tags, and a surprise GPU bill.

A bit, yeah. “Autonomous” looks great in the demo, then prod shows up with shared clusters, sloppy labels, overridden limits, and one rogue training job lighting money on fire.

“Autonomous” only works if the guardrails are boring and strict, and a simple spend cap on one runaway GPU namespace would tell me more than any polished demo.
