# Scope issue

hi there,  
i have an interesting issue that i have been working on for what seems like an eternity now but can’t seem to make any headway… i have an HTML page with flashobject making calls to SWFs to load in id’d divs… in cases where you click a button on a nav bar, the onRelease event creates a new flashobject and writes it to the appropriate div…

however, there are certain cases where after writing the swf from the nav bar click… i need to load XML data into another blank SWF (consisting of two dynamic textfields with embedded fonts)…

for some reason, if i write the data from the XML at a global level into those dynamic textfields, it works fine… however I need to change the data depending upon clicks from the Nav bar (basically the content you see is based on the click in the navbar) so if i add any sort of global variable which would notify a switch or if…then block to direct the correct XML data into the dynamic textfields… all i get returned is the variable name in the textboxes…

i know this is confusing so if anyone would like to see the code, please let me know.
