Hi,
i have created a scrolling image bar, that scrolls once the cursor is placed on the arrow icon. the two arrow icons control the flow of the scrolling images.

But the scrolling image box is taking up the whole screen. i am wondering if there is a way i can make the scrolling image bar, fit onto the stage and not the whole screen. something like a scrolling text box, where the text appears only within the text field and not the whole screen.

i am new to flash, desparately need help!
thankz

Use a mask.

Create a layer ABOVE your scrolling textbox.

In that layer create a rectangle that you want to be the area that is viewable.

Right click on the title area of the layer (part to the left of the frames where you can chage the title of the layer) and choose “Mask”

This will make that layer mask the layer undernieth.

And tah dah. Just make sure you don’t mask out your buttons, that wouldn’t be good 😛

</div>

and don’t forget to right click the layer _to be masked_ (The one with the images) and change it to a _Masked_ layer

(read::“masker and maskee”)

When you set the above layer to be a mask it automatically creates the layer right below it to be the maskee. You can then click and drag the other layers into that mask as well 🙂
