Firstly i’d like to appologise if this new thread ive created is in the wrong place or wrong context or just plain wrong; i’m new to forums, and have no idea what i’m doing. I simply would like some help creating an image gallery for my site.

I have an intermediate understanding of flash but struggle with the actionscript side of things. So please post any help in as simplist form as possible.

I am basically trying to create a scrolling image gallery using the principles of a tutorial i found on this site which is amazing, but restricting. I was hoping someone could help me manipulate the actionscript to work as I require.

Tutorial Link:

I would basically like to achieve the same affect but with a cropped area of the stage like a movie clip or something, so that i could have my navigation bar etc. at the top and rolling over that area outside of the cropped area would not scroll the image. Currently I understand that the actionscript takes the x coordinates of the mouse with reference to the stage. Can this be altered to a movieclip or button of any size?

Long Q I know, but as I said I’m new to this game so I havn’t quite mastered forum efficiency.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks,
