# Select certain colors in illustrator?

I have a black silhouette on a white background that I have made and exported in to illustrator and converted to live paint using live trace. I my problem is that live trace has kept the white and black and I only want the black silhouette is there a way that i can select only the white and then either delete/mask/or reduce alpha a the image is rather complex and to go about selecting each and every little white part would take ages. Does anyone have any ideas that might help me id really appreciate it.
