# Selectable static textfield

I would like to have multiple spaces at the start of a paragraph (to simulate first line indentation) in a static text field.

Whenever I turn make the text “selectable”, the multiple spaces get compressed into a single space.

Does anyone know why this happens and whether there is a workaround (besides making 2 textfields)?

The FLA is authored in Flash 8 and exported as a Flash Player 7 SWF.
