# Send var into as2 inside a as3 container

Hi, do you know some way to send a var into a as2 swf loaded inside an as3 container without using localConnection or externalInterface? just like the old way you did it normally on as2 where you load the external swf an then using its name you place filenameMovieCLip.var = value (which surrently doesn’t work).
