# Sending a Form with MX 2004 Components

Hi everyone. I am having trouble with this form. For some reason I cant get the values of the fields. I am using the textInput and Button and textField components, and I dont know why they dont work, I can make a form really easy using regular input fields but I want to use the components. In the Flash help it says as follows:

> Once text is entered in the passwordField instance, you can get its value as follows:

[AS]var login = passwordField.text;[/AS]

But that is not working at all. I have looked for help but there doesnt seem to be many resources for Flash MX **2004** Components.
