# setNewTextFormat Question

Hi

Does setNewTextFormat only work with textfields that have been created using createTextField () ? It works fine when I create a textfield this way but when I create a textfield using the Flash IDE and then try to change its TextFormat nothing happens?

Anyone any ideas?
