# Should requiring users to register be removed?

Hi everyone,  
I was wondering - what do you all think about removing the requirement that users register before they can use the forums?

For a lot of users who just post a few questions and never come back, forcing them to register seems a bit unnecessary.

My only concern is how spammers will adapt. Most spam on the site is blocked through IP addresses, and I can ensure that unregistered users cannot insert any links.
