# Simple question AS3

Hopefully a simple answer?

When movieclips are not on the stage do they hog resources as if they were on stage?

In other words, do I have to do a removeChild() on objects that won’t even be visible (because their x and y are out of the stage area) or will Flash handle that aspect for me?
