how would i change this code to load a random image?

function loadXML(loaded) {  
if (loaded) {  
xmlNode = this.firstChild;  
image = [];  
description = [];  
total = xmlNode.childNodes.length;

image\* = xmlNode.childNodes\*.childNodes[0].firstChild.nodeValue;

}  
}  
xmlData = new XML();  
xmlData.ignoreWhite = true;
