# Simulated mouse click?

is it possible to simulate a mouse click in AS3.  
say i have an inputTextField (not TextArea component) and i want to set the focus to the textField if i could simulate a mouse click it could get it to work.  
does anyone have any clue as to how this might be possible?:ear:
