Sliding menu with a stop?

This is far as I can get::*(

This looks great :smiley:

But I have a few questions to the movie.

menu.onRollOver = back.onPress=function () { delete this.onEnterFrame;};

The scrolling movieclip, you have named menu. But I cant find anything named “back”, where is that ? It obviously makes it act like a button, since the cursor changes to a small hand.

also, there is actually a piece of actionscript called “delete” ?

My questions may be dumb, but I havent worked with actionscript that long :slight_smile:

Woops, forgot to ask one more thing.

The number 466 in your if statements, why that number ?

No! They´re not dumb at all!

The back is wrong! I have changed this script many times, and I forgot to change the “back” to menu.

´bout the delete, this is to erase the command that makes the menu slide when you mouse over it to stop it.

If have not noticed, this menu doesn´t behave like you said you want. It doesn´t move till you rollover it and then rollout for the first time, and it doesn´t move by itself from time to time. I couldn´t do that. But if we wait a wile longer someone will help us out.

They always do=)

Ps: I´m updating the .fla in the previous post.

Take a look at the updated .FLA to see that.:slight_smile:

Here is a cleaner version of the same .FLA.

Real sorry for the mess, I forgot to take my pills this morning=)

i’d like to join in the quest to find out the answer…
i’m only a learner so i’m waiting for the answer :wink:

Guig0, do you have an email, or could you send it to me on:
rogue@vip.cybercity.dk , i would like to send you my .fla file. I could post it here on the forum, but as it is for a company, they probably wouldn’t like that.

guilherme.salgado@ig.com.br :rambo:

I have sent you a mail :slight_smile:

Rogue:

The number on the if statment should be exactly the same of the size of the image (I believe it is 982).

Cheers:rambo:

Thank you so much, for all your help :smiley:

You´re welcome!=)

EDIT: Just a sugestion, you should remove the arrows image of your animation, since they don´t have any purpose to be there at all.

Well, I want to make som buttons over those arrows, that make it work the same way like the sonypage. Im going to work on that right now :slight_smile:

Hey guys/gals. I was wondering if it’s possible to do this kind of thing in Flash 5? I sort of figured it out but when I try to export it I get a message that says

“WARNING: This movie uses features that are not supported in the Flash 5 player
Scene=Scene 1, Layer=arrow, Frame=1: Flash MX Button Instance Name
Scene=Scene 1, Layer=arrow, Frame=1: Flash MX Button Instance Name”

What can I do to make it work in flash 5?

Thanks for the help

no idea:(

darn…my problem is I’m trying to run it in Director 8, but Director 8 doesn’t recognize Flash MX so I have to save it as Flash 5.

That sucks that I spent all day trying to figure out how to do this (with all your guys help of course) only to find out that I can’t use it! :( :( :crazy: :crazy:

Does anybody know how to change the button behaviors in Guig0 2nd .fla file on the 1st page of this post so that they will work in flash 5?

I’m desperate here…any help anybody could give me would be great!

Thanks
