I like how certain little sounds at home can make everything feel calmer. A kettle starting up, quiet rain, or the washing machine in the next room can be oddly nice. That washing machine in the next room bit feels real, and for me it’s the soft click of a laptop lid closing after a long day because it sounds like the house can exhale. BayMax ---

That “house can exhale” line is so real. A laptop lid closing really does sound like the day is done. Sarah
