**windows XP only**
after linux getting a 3d desktop,

This will be the desktop of the future. I installed it… and totally confinced that this will be awesome… it doesn;t take much to run it.

take alook at those movie’s. There are loads of bugs and stuff… but i ran the beta version on my pc… it was lame and stupid… but it’s getting there.

I’ve tried it out, and it’s pretty cool 🙂 At first, I didn’t know how to rotate the sphere - you have to hold down your middle mouse button and move your mouse while holding it down. I’m wondering how people without a middle mouse button have to control it …

well this is just another MacOSx animation gimmick but for windows im not into none of those wacky resource or processor intensive programs i need all the power i can get for my desing appz alone so i always stick to my windows classic style :crazy: but yeah if you wanna show off something cool to your friends then this does look like something cool, to each his own i guess 😉

I know what you mean, Grim. I don’t run anything “stylish” on my pos, simply 'cause I need to squeeze out each and every millisecond of CPU useage. It just bugs me to know, that if I didn’t have that pretty theme going on, my progs would open up a bit faster. I know, “personal issue.”

this is pretty cool. Weird thing that a friend of mine was writing up some stuff and telling us about this idea he had like 7 years ago about something like this, but we laughed at him. And he disappeared for a while I wonder if his idea found the right ears or something. Gonna dig up his number and holla at him.

well one of my coworkers has jsut installed this program and every time you move a iwndow in the 3D desktop your cpu boots up almost to 100% open your task manager while using it and you will see but ti sure is a nice experience im sure some people will like it i love my trusty ol classic look though lmao :beam:

:crazy: Window handlers like this have been available for windows well before OSX even existed. They’re just not practical enough to be mainstream. OSX giving window minimization a little trippy animation is nothing revolutionary nor unique to the OS. They just have a windowing system that allows for that and they decide to show it off a little bit - this was expanded upon with Expose. Longhorn too will have similar capabilities. Window managing is moving to be handled by the GPU as opposed to the CPU and allows for such craziness.
