Hello everyone… I have read articles on AI before, mainly for tiled based games like the ones at Tonypa, but I was wondering how do you go about programming AI for a sports game in Flash? Something simple and basic like Basketball, or Football, where the computer AI guards one another computer AI and/or knows where to get into position depending on where the human player moves.

I try thinking about it more and more, and it seems to be overwhelming and it would take a lot of lines of code to do to handle all players on the game field (basketball would a total of 9 computer AI, and football would be 21 - not counting the human).

Does anyone have links on how to do advance AI like this or any resources they would be willing to share. Many thanks in advance 🙂
