Hey guys,

I’ve been searching for a way to create a more realistic steam/smoke. Most of the things I can find are too cartoonish and not believable enough. What I need to do is create some smoke coming off a hot plate of food. I’m not the most advanced flash person so any and every suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a bunch!!!

after effects preset smoke on a white/alpha channel with add as blendmode looks great.

sure, but it requires a certain bit of actionscript knowledge.

I guess the most straight forward way is to have a couple of shapes that are released as particles while being blurred/scaled and slightly rotated and use a blendmode on it.
