Does anyone know how any types of glue work? How do they stick? Is it a chemical bond or maybe a secondary bond, like van der Waals or hydrogen bonding?

Interesting, but I am still curious what is happening at the surface of a material, where it comes in contact with the glue. I saw that it said white glue forms a “flexible bond” but that is rather vague.
