# .swf file and pre-loader status bar

Hi,

I have created a .swf in CS3, in the first frame is a pre-loader status bar which is the standard one found in components.

I have put the .swf into a html file and uploaded it to the web.

As the .swf is loading you just see a blank white box for about 5-10 seconds, the pre-loader status bar appears for a split second and then the movie is loaded.

Why does the pre-loader status bar not appear for the first 5-10 seconds? That was the whole purpose of it being there.
