# Target individual movieclips?

hello, new to actionscript and i have a question. in a actionscript file, is there anyway to have different codes target different movieclips? For example, if i want one movieclip to tint to red and another to tint to blue, can I do that in the same actionscript file or do I need to do that in separate actionscript file?
