# Tell Target? To Use or Not To Use?

Hi,

I was just following a kirupa flash 5 tut because I wanted to create the “advanced rollover effect”(which I can’t find for MX) when I stumbled on the fact that in MX, the tell target function is listed under the "deprecated functions and states to avoid in new content.

Now I work in MX and that would be new content. so I’d like some advice,

Should I carry on using Tell Target or should I look for a better rollover effect tut?
