I have a movieclip with a TextArea inside it with the instance name writeUps\_txt.

The movieclip is added to the stage with actionscript and I want to set the text inside writeUps\_txt after the movieclip is added to the stage.

Why won’t the following work?

infoPages\*.writeUps\_txt.text = blurbs\*;

I’ve checked everything and all of my arrays contain the right objects so everything is kosher there. To add to the problem, this line:

infoPages\*.title\_txt.text = locations\*;

does work and the only difference is that title\_txt is dynamic text.

Is there a difference between how dynamic text and textAreas behave in this regard?

Any ideas?

Cheers.
