You can upload it by choosing the image from the computer if it is an avatar. With the footer, you need to upload it to a host that enables external linking and within the img tags, put http:// …

No question no matter how small is dumb. The only dumb thing would have been you not asking about it 😉

What ^^^ said, and also:

- You can go to [www.yoxio.com](http://www.yoxio.com/) and sign up for a free account so host your images. Then you can upload your image and put the url to it between the [img]tags in your signature. (there are plenty of other free servers out there, but they have to allow image remote linking, and this one does as I use it for stuff like this.)
- If it’s an avatar, just upload it from your computer but it the maximum size of your custom image has to be 100 by 100 pixels or 68.4 KB (whichever is smaller).

Whatever you do, don’t link to a picture on your own HD 😛
