This might be a stupid question

Getting back on topic…

Suga’s Ray Of Light was the first site that ever inspired me for Flash.

I think Waldeck’s Lost In Beta certainly inspired me to learn more Photoshop.

Dan and Edwin motivated me to learn the basics of 3D, specificly 3DS Max.

EG inspired me to save up for Cinema 4D.

etc… etc… etc… I could go on forever… etc… etc… etc…

ahhhhh, thank you morse, i appreciate that.

yea…ray of light inspires me alot (i am just starting out in flash)
its amazing to me right now…i dont know if this will change the more i know about flash…but as of right now…its crazy.

but…yea, i could go on and on about more sites too…that’s just the most impressive to me right now

yes it will  First its great! Everything is impressive and just “cool”. Even some crap is the best thing in the world just because its animated and it works. I mean look at wheeeee. Technically, its crappy, but its one of my favorite flash movies in existance. If I ever feel down I watch it and feel 10 times better!

But yeah, everything is great and then you start learning flash and everything is incredibly interesting until things dont work for you - and you KNOW they should… wtf? WHY ISNT THIS WORKING… so you go through your frustration phase. Then you start figuring things out and go through a yeah boyee phase where you think you’re hot shiznit. Then you get to a phase where Flash bores you and all you do all day is avoid your bosses and work and post on kirupa all day talking about nuns and getting hit and avoiding getting hit by fish.

Lol i have seen that weeeee thing before. lol the daily stuff on there is freekin great.

I know what Sen is talking about, I’ve spent hours in front of my computer cursing like theres no tomorrow. I still do it now, but not as much as before. :beam:

**Im just nit-picky, but for a footer it kicks.

anywho, the effect attained (and I assume desired) is that of depth. You have 3 depths of field… possibly 4 with the text, I cant see it now so Im not sure, and each one of these fields ease at different speeds. These speeds are what allow the foremost depths of field move faster, as they would if they were physically closer to you, and the furthermost fields slower, again, as they would if they were physically further away from you. However, your bounds are close if not similar for each one of these fields, so the distant fields continue to move even though the foremost field has lost its momentum and found the ‘resting place’ for the target movement. The closer fields get there faster and therefore stop sooner. However, in depth perception in a consistent directional gaze, the further, slower depths will not move as much as the closer fields and stop their movement at the same time as (and proportional to) the closer depths of field. So when the close grass reaches where it needs to be, the distant grass should also be where it needs to be, however it continues to scroll and you get this wierd ‘the background is sliding away’ effect.

again, no big deal at all and probably no one would ever notice but me but there, I said it. Feel free to pummel me with fish.

[edit] the excuse I always told myself is that not only are you moving side to side, but you are also panning as well therefore creating a rotation at the point of the closer grass allowing for distant grass to move without it needing to [/edit] **

OHHH, I thought you were talking like Flash working wise there was a flaw. As for real world physics, I know it is off, but the way it is now I felt gave a stronger effect so I liked it better and kept it that way. And there are 4 layers, 3 images and 1 text.

yea…im in that “frustrating” phase…b/c stuff pisses me off!! nothin ever works!!! ahhhhhhhhhh.
lol, i know what your talking about though…i cant wait to get to the “im the shiznit” phase
