# Thumnail/button/preloader... help!

Hi all
I’m looking for information on how to create a particular navigation system. It’s similar to that of [http://www.rui-camilo.de/main.html](http://www.rui-camilo.de/main.html) , where the nav system is made up of squares, each square shows a preloader for its’ respective jpg. Once the image is preloaded the square becomes a clickable button, that when clicked shows an image in an empty MC. Does any one know where I should start? I’m not really sure what it is I’m looking for. Are they preloaders with a button after the preloading is complete? I’m kinda confused. Can anyone clarify this for me?
I am using Flash MX with external jpgs that will be loaded into a empty MC. I have searched extensively but cannot seem to find any tutorials/assistance on how to do this. Any help would be great!

the button clips, i guess, could be 2 frames,
1st one with background mc, alpha 0, and the alpha gets set to photos bytes loaded; when alpha == 100, goto frame 2 where the button is added over the bg…
makes sense…?

I’ll give it a try. I guess what I’m really stuck on is the way the images are sequentially preloaded… I have seen a few tutorials on sequential loading but every one loads the image into a MC location. I just don’t get how the images are preloader but don’t appear to be loaded anywhere? (know what I mean). I’ve also come across little post here and there about using XML or PHP, but again I am confused as to where to look for the answers.
