Is there a way to create a time stamp?

basically on my sites I have a “last updated: this date” I don’t have a problem changing this manually but I forget more often than people like 🙂

Is there a component or something that changes the date everytime the file is opened? saved? anything?

or maybe even just a bit of actionscript? a tutorial?

Thanks for your time
