# Totally new to Flash...any suggestions?

Hi all.

Totally new to Flash, never ever used it, or any similar s/w.  
Can someone point me in the right direction in regards to getting a really good understanding of it. The tutorials that come with it are OK, but may be geared to someone who at least has a modicum of knowledge, of which I have none.  
I have Flash 8 Pro - is it best to get familiarised with version staright off?
