Have any of you that are developing sites for money been successful in trading with clients? I am making a big effort to put myself out there to a lot of clients that are in an industry I want to trade with. It seems like a great deal for them, just wondering if anyone has some good advice and or tips. Cheers. EthanM ---

the only time I have been successful with bartering, was when I had my catering business… I’ve done some bartering with my web-host for space… I’m talking to my landlord about doing a site for them in trade… will any of that experience help? Rev ![](http://aulman.com/rev.gif) ---

I have traded my services for things such as rims (22’s) for my truck. A computer. I have traded for free advertising for a gateway store by my house also. Worked out real well. I have never subscrbed to a service tho. But if you trade for something you would have normally spent money for then it is a good deal to me. ---

i’ve also done this. I got my 19" in trade for a site design. 😉 I’ve also traded work for advertising, but who doesn’t do this to begin with anyway. I’ve never traded directly for clients without still paying out a referral. I always bank on getting more 2nd level clients to cover it, and so far it’s worked great. ---

I think we have some sort of barter register here. Never tried it, but it sounds like a good idea. ---
