# Transition effect done in After Effects or Flash?

Hi all,

I’m trying to increase my range of animation skills in Flash and there’s an effect I’d really like to learn. It’s shown well on the Sherlock Holmes movie website.

Basically, the transition between pages is a kind of fade to black where the darkness comes to a focal point in the center of the screen (rather than fading the entire background image evenly). This animation is reversed when the new page is loaded.

I know this can be done in After Effects but from the above site, it looks like it was done in Flash / Actionscript. Is that right?

If so, does anyone have any tips on how I would go about animating that effect?

Appreciate any thoughts!
