# True 8-way movement for games

I don’t really like to blatantly advertise but someone did post a game engine tutorial a while back so I thought I’d also help those who are starting out with flash game development.

For those wanting to know how to easily move their game characters in 8 directions I’ve posted a tutorial here:

In the final example shown there, the object will move in all directions at the same speed, which most sometimes neglect (professional coders included -there are a lot of old professional games which enabled the player to move faster in a diagonal direction).
