# Turning captions on and off

I’m trying out the captioning component in Flash CS3 and it’s working, but I can’t figure out a way to turn the captions on and off. If showCaptions is set to false, the captions don’t show up until you press the button, which is what I want to happen. But then I want to be able to press the button again, and turn them off, but that doesn’t work. I need the caption button to be a toggle button and turn the captions on and off repeatedly. Is this possible to do, and how do you do it?

I’ve got this set into a movie, which has narration, but I want people who are hearing impaired to be able to turn on the captions, and also turn them off as well.

I’m using CS3 on a Mac, OS 10.4.11.
