# Uploading Files Using File Reference Tutorial

Hi Everyone. I’m trying to get this tutorial working for uploading files using the file reference: [http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash8/uploading\_fileReference\_pg1.htm](http://www.kirupa.com/developer/flash8/uploading_fileReference_pg1.htm)

However it doesn’t seem to be working. After the bar gets to 100 % I get this error, “HTTP Error #404”. I’m on a linux server, and from what I’ve been reading, I think I need to do something with the .htaccess file? Is that right? If anyone could help me get this working I’d really appreciate it!
