# Uploading to web host problem

This message is unrelated to Flash but I figured that most people on here have extensive knowledge on building sites, you all would be of great help. Is it normal to have a really long lag time when uploading html and swf files to the internet? Because when I upload my files and type in the correct address to view the site, what I am seeing is a cached-older version of the files I previously posted and not the new ones I just uploaded. I am using the [APlus.net](http://APlus.net) service as my host and I am frustrated because it takes almost a full day for changes to be recognized. Is this normal?:skull: ☹

usally when i see this happening, i run disk clean up, it will clear the temp files, and this will enable you to see the new, updated version.

I tried the disk cleanup and before I view my page again, I clear my cache, history, and cookies. I’ve contacted the host company and they told me that the changes should be immediate. But still I can only see older versions of my page. Even when I went into the host and deleted everything that was in the html folders I was still able to pull up my page…the oder version. I’m so lost. I am doing this for work so I connect to the internet through another computer. Is that where my problem lies?

That is strange, that only happens to me when I’m making DNS changes. Have you tried viewing it from another computer?

yeah, ask one of your friends if they can see the updated version, this has only happened to me once, and it was when i was transferring my domain… the solution was just to wait it out… but i guess that’s what ur doing…

one thing u might want to make sure of is that under internet options|temporary internet files|settings check for new content is set to every time

thanks everyone! Although I clear my cache everytime before I check for my new updates, it still doesn’t load the changes for a while. So I must contend with waiting a little while before my changes are reflected.
