# Urgent! Flash Player 9 and flakey progressive FLV loading in IE6?

This is related to my other post on this.

After trying both the old MediaDisplay components and the newer FLVPlayback component (both used from within Flash 8 Professional), it appears that the newer Flash player version 9 has issues when opening a net connection for a requested FLV. The initial connection takes upwards of a minute to engage in IE 6. I’ve experienced no issues with the same versions in Firefox. Is this an Active X/IE 6 thing?

I don’t have IE 7 as yet (not on my office workstation) and can’t say if this same behaviour happens there. If anybody with IE7 and player 9 could check out [http://205.200.127.103/video.html](http://205.200.127.103/video.html) for me and let me know if you’re still getting a long latency period before the FLV (any of them on that page) starts to load, I’d really appreciate the help.

I’m completely at a loss on this and my manager wants to drop Flash entirely and any mention of Flash video because of this.
