Hello,

I need help with this ASAP. I have a flash slideshow that has buttons at the bottom…when one of the images is displaying, it sets the buttons to load a webpage, when the next images load, the buttons are set to load a different website. I am using an external actionscript file for the links. However, after I publish the flash file, then when I go to change the links in the flash file by opening in notepad, changing the link, then saving it as the same file name, when I run the .swf it doesn’t update the link that it is supposed to go to when you click on a button. What am I doing wrong?

Here is the external actionscript file. (view attachment)

What exactly do you have to do when updating links in an external Actionscript file?

You have to re-publish the fla when you update the external as file.

Once you compile the .swf, the .fla pulls all the script from the .as file. So unless you republish the fla, the .swf will still have the old code in it. You dont need to upload the .as file to the server. Make since?

I see…is there any way to make the .fla Flash 6 compatible? So if another person has Flash 6, they can open the .fla to republish it…?
