Using duplicate and attach movie to create background

i would love to but i don’t know why my fla is so big. most of it is containers loading swfs. and buttons. can i send it to you via email. it is 1.2 mb.

yes I have it in the first frame along with all my other work say empty containers, buttons graphics etc.

i think i may know what your problem is. check to make sure you’ve done this.
you need to set an export for actionscript instance name for the movieclips that you want to enabled for background usage.

in the library window, right click on the movieclips that you want to enable for usage as a backgroud tile, and then select “Linkage…”

in the window that opens, check “Export for actionscript” and then name the movieclips. i gave the ones in my examples numbers.

I got it to work using mx and not mx2004. but the image just covers my swf over it how can i put it behind my swf. something to do with levels?

stick the movieclip, that all the tiles go into, onto it’s on layer and put that layer to the bottom of the stage
