Hey all,

I’m working on a multi-lingual project and I need to display Chinese characters. I’m trying to avoid embedding the font library as that adds a lot to the size of the file.

I’ve tried using system fonts

fontFamily = “Arial Unicode MS, \_sans”;

Which works on most computers, but some simply don’t have ‘Arial Unicode MS’, and \_sans doesn’t seem to be filling in like I’d expect it to.

Is there a reliable way to use ANY system font on the users computer which is capable of displaying Chinese characters?

I’ve tried using:

```auto
private function findFont(testText:String):void {
var embeddedFonts:Array = Font.enumerateFonts(true);
for (var i:int = 0; i < embeddedFonts.length; i++) {
 var testFont:Font = embeddedFonts*;
 trace(testFont.fontName + ": " + testFont.hasGlyphs(testText));
}
}
```

to see if I could find a font with the appropriate glyphs but this returns false across the board.

So anyone have any suggestions?
