# Variable problems in MX 2004

I am having trouble with variables in the latest version of flash. I am using if statements to see if the variable is at a specific value. I keep getting errors telling me to put quotes around the variables and values but when I do they become strings which isnt what im looking for. can someone please help me or let me know if they are having the same problems. Thanks

I think your error is just syntax. Flash debugging is probably detecting something weird. Provide us some code and we’ll put you on your way.
