# Wanting transitions w/o external swf's

I have some text that will fade in when a button is pressed and fade out when a different button is pressed, which will then fade in the new appropriate text. I’m doing this by using the transitions between external .swf tutorial found here on kirupa. Now my question is this: is there a way to do this without having to use external swf’s?
