# What a week without phone alerts revealed?

A week of running a phone on full Do Not Disturb made life noticeably calmer and more focused, but it also exposed the social cost when friends and family expect instant replies.

@Quelly the part about friends and family getting annoyed is the real tradeoff, and a tiny fix is letting a few people through for repeat calls so actual emergencies still ring.
