# What do you want to see in a game?

usability and deep story kinda like my favorite game dungeon seige with keyboar shortcuts and a pretty good storyline except for the whiole poor guy vs. big anceint evil. But that game you can do lots of stuff and it all kinda flows too no wandering 6 miles into a cave for a dumb ring and have to walk back 12 miles to give it to a person there is always a second exit that goes somewhere else(other words no backtracking).

For me - total freedom.
I want to play a game that features Halo or Half-Life like weapons with portions of the game taking place in city-scenes where I have the total freedom to hide inside any building seen in the area. If I’m being chased by some weird alien, I want to be able to spot a random building (not the one building the devs. think would be a good spot), run into it via the front door, climb the stairs, and snipe from some family’s dining room window!
Also, I like to see games featuring a lot of normal, non-combatant units. I don’t mean the usual 3d models that move in random directions or are repeated a million times like in Half Life, but I want to see realistic…computer people with different looks who have some definite place they want to go.
I guess I am looking for something like GTA + Halo + Far Cry combined into one game with HL2-like city graphics 🙂

Man you have a good idea of a great game kirupa, I’d say mine would be similar.
But honestly, my biggest dream game, would be a Gran Turismo type of racer. With everycar, every make, and for it to be extremely realistic. I mean you could tune pistons and flywheels, and exchanging cam shafts, adjusting camber, etc etc. And would have every type of car sport to be played. Man that would be my dream game, and it seems that need for speed and Gran Turismo are getting up to it.

It’s like you took the words right out of my mouth… that would be awesome but at the same time very difficult to achieve. I wonder how long it would take to make such a videogame… oh yes, and it would have to have **Online Play**!!!

Yeah! Online play would be really nice. If I wanted to, I could choose be some random spectator walking my dog while watching someone else blasting aliens just around the corner.
I think such freedom will take a while to achieve. Each person doing random things will kill any CPU. Each person having their own AI in a realistic world would be really tough to achieve for now. Maybe in a few years though 🙂
Today’s games are getting more realistic. I’m willing to be that Half Life 3 or Half Life 4 may offer Gordon Freeman more freedom to break down a lampost, deform the garbage can, etc.
A combination of Sim City, Sims, and Half-Life 2 will also work haha 😛

Lol, that would be amazing!
Just combine every genre of videogames.
After I get done rescuing the hostages in a S.W.A.T.-like mission I jump into my Ferrari and race some guy in a Lamborghini… a game like this would have no real story line, I guess it would be like the Sims. Eventually this will be possible, sooner than later I hope.

the matrix online game sums it up for me 🙂
also though, to be able to move like i want to - for example execute a kung fu move like i would if i were in their situation - a specific combo, a way to jump, etc.

there is a game called “The Specialists” which fits your desription perfectly. It’s a Half Life mod, and you have gun and whatnot, and there is like slow motion, katana’s, matrix maps, and it’s huge online. Check it out.

i want a racing car game where I can travel/race from SF to NY in a real time, stop by at McD, get some gas, buy some chip, sleep at the motel, get the price for the 1st place, use the money [prize] to upgrade the car.

Well I’ll be damed. That’s so awsome you play man, and darn nice score bro. We should definetly hook up sometime eh? I’m way better at counterstrike, but I could never turn away from the specialists.
But I haven’t heard to much about clans in that game, I was mostly a loner 😛
But hey, I’ll try to PM/AIM you sometime so we can play!
EDIT : 350z, I posted the same idea, I would love that kind of game!
