# What makes a professional web page?

Hi all,

I build a lot of sites for bands, which is great because people like that sketchy vibe. But now i have a website for a record company to do. It needs to be slick, intuitive and easy to use, but without sacrificing any design. I’ve looked at similar sites, [www.defected.com](http://www.defected.com), [www.sonybmg.com](http://www.sonybmg.com), [http://www.emirecords.co.uk/loader.html](http://www.emirecords.co.uk/loader.html) etc and they all seem a little shoddy.

I get a lot of criticism that my sites aren’t professional enough for this level of work and I was wondering if anybody had some good pointers.
